Mimi Vannier Designs’ president and principal designer, Leanne Baskett, is a visual artist with paintings in private collections throughout Canada. Marrying design principles learned through her formal education at Ontario College of Art and Design with her self-confessed addiction to swanky accessories, Leanne launched her line of hand painted artisan handbags under the Mimi Vannier label in the fall of 2008. Reception to Mimi Vannier’s one-of-a-kind wearable art pieces has been overwhelming; Leanne is currently designing new patterns and forms to expand the line into clutches, mini-clutches, make-up bags and portfolios.
